Rich Media Production (NMIX 6310) Fall 2021

In addition to NMIX 7110, I also was enrolled in NMIX 6310. In this class, I began to learn the basics of app development and what it was like to be an app creator. Prior to taking this class, I had very little knowledge of how apps were created. In fact, I did not even know that Swift was a language! This class taught me the fundamentals of Swift UI and during this class, I was able to create some very unique projects. Some of the projects that I am most proud of from this class are my midterm and final project.

Midterm Project

For my midterm project, I decided to make an app that tells users how to make different coffee beverages. I decided to go with this because, after working for Starbucks for many years, I have learned a lot of the recipes and wanted to share them with others. I personally had a lot of fun creating this app, and while there were points that were very challenging with it, I am proud of the way that it turned out.

Final Project

For my final project, I decided to create a task manager app. I frequently use task managers on my phone, so I wanted to see if I could challenge myself to make my own. During this project, I was able to learn how models work and more about creating my own variables. The skills that I learned in this project really showed me that I am much more confident with X-Code than I originally would have thought. Between both my Midterm and Final project, I believe I have learned a wide variety of skills when it comes to Swift UI that I will be able to use further down the line in my EM journey.
